3 tips on How to lose Stomach Fat For Real

Start losing stomach fat today

Tip 1: Figure out how much you're eating per day in calories

This is all about the calories, we all should be taking in a particular number of calories each day. It's the number one thing most nutritionists and health experts will concentrate on when you ask them how to lose stomach fat.

Most of us eat a lot of empty calories each day, these come in the form of soda, snack foods (i.e. Chips, pastries), excessive cream in coffee etc. It might be a surprise but cutting out a lot of these empty calories will help you lose stomach fat, and bring you closer to your correct daily calorie intake.

How should I start tracking calories?

What you need to do is start paying attention to nutritional information on food labels, and at resteraunts. Keep a journal for at least a week to see how many calories your eating on average. Doing this for a week will give you a much better estimate then just tracking it for a day or two.


One pound of fat is approximately 3500 calories, so in the course of a week if you take in 500 less calories then you should each day you'll burn off an additional 500 calories in fat. This will put you on track to losing one pound a week.

This is something that isn't always mentioned in a conversation about how to get rid of stomach fat, but you shouldn't lose more then 1-2 lbs per week to stay healthy.

Tip 2: Plan your meals in advance to lose stomach fat fast

You probably didn't think I'd talk about grocery shopping in the context of how to lose stomach fat, but this is a key point that has helped me in the past. Not planning out your meals allows you to get lazy and make un-nutriotional meals after work or for snacks.

Sit down at the beginning of the week and plan out dinners for that entire week. I like to find recipes that will provide me with 4 servings so I have enough left over for lunches to take to work. When you grocery shop only pick up the items you need to make the meals for that week, this will reduce the chances you buy foods that contribute to stomach fat.

You now have a road map to healthy eating for lunch and dinner for an entire week. Not only does this tip help you lose stomach fat, but it will help pad your wallet to.

Tip 3: Get some exercise to lose stomach fat

Exercises for losing fat off your stomach couldn't be left out. I know exercise isn't fun. I won't lie I'm not a huge fan, but one thing I have realized is that it's never as bad once I start doing something. If you want to know how to lose stomach fat, then you need to be doing the right exercises.

One way is to get out and do some cardio activity on a regular basis. This could be jogging,  a brisk walk, or even doing an aerobics dvd at home.

If you remember back to tip 1 about how to lose stomach fat, I said you wanted to take in about 500 calories less then you need each day to burn stomach fat. You can supplement those 500 calories with some exercise as well. I'd recommend reducing your calorie intake by half the amount each day (up to 300 calories or so) and then partake in some form of exercise each day that will burn the same amount.
