Best Exercises to lose belly fat

Getting rid of excess belly fat can be done in one or a combination of three ways.

  • Exercise
  • Diet
  • Supplements/Pills/Surgery

Of course the third alternative is really the extreme, but it will help you lose belly fat in a hurry. The best combination is to modify your current diet plus learn to exercise to lose belly fat. Most people think that they're getting in enough exercise with a twenty minute brisk walk to help shed those extra pounds, how ever that walk is just keeping the status quo.

I'm going to explain how to exercise to lose belly fat, and give you some examples. I don't want you to think that cardio workouts such as walking and jogging are a waste of time. They can work, and I'll explain how below but there are easier ways.

It's all about exercises fat burning potential

In order to burn belly fat you must burn calories. It's the same concept as dieting, we reduce the quantity of calories we need each day and our body ends up getting the remainder from our fat supplies. In turn this slowly burns away the excess fat we have.

Exercising to burn belly fat is the same, we need to burn extra calories by working out to speed up how much fat we actually lose each week. The key is knowing what exercises are the best bang for your exercise time.

Don't be specific

Concentrating on exercises around the mid section, thinking that since that's where the fat is that's where you need to develop muscle is wrong. When we work out or burn calories we can't pick and choose where the fat falls from. Our body more or less distributes the calorie burning evenly around our body.

If you're going to be doing exercises make them what's called Multi-Joint exercises. What does that mean? Well don't focus on one specific part of the body when working out instead do exercises that get the whole body into it. Think lunges, this uses your entire lower body to life the weight up and down this burns a lot more calories then sitting still doing a bicep curl.

What about cardio?

Cardio activities work to burn fat, how ever what most people don't realize is that when we're stopping our workouts at the 20-30 minute mark is when we're just starting to get the maximum fat burning benefit. We need to take Cardiod exercise to lose belly fat to the next level. Try to go for a 60 minute walk.

The first part of your cardiovascular workouts burn what is known as glycogen, a stored form of energy. After that's gone your body moves to it's fat as reserver energy. That's when you'll really enter the fat burn mode.

Consistency is a must

What ever you decide to do to burn belly fat. Whether it's multi joint exercises, more cardiovascular workouts or just extreme dieting, be consistent with it. Nothing happens fast when it comes to losing weight. So give it time to work. If you want to modify your workouts and exercise to lose belly fat then do it, but give it 4-6 weeks before you decide if it isn't giving your results or not.
