Caloric Intake: The first step
is knowing how many calories you should be eating a day. This
can be done in a couple of ways, the book I'll recommend later
on to help you helps you calculate your required caloric intake
(The Truth About Abs), also there are some free calculators
online that will help you determine the number of calories you
should be eating based on your age, height, and physical
activity levels.
This is the first step in creating a 6 pack abs diet because
you can't know where you have to go (calorie wise) if you don't
know where you're at.
The goal here is that once you know you should be
eating XXXX number of calories a day you want to hover around
that amount. It's possible you need to cut your body
fat percentage so in that case you'll want to actually cut your
calorie intake a little bit below that.
Frequency: To have an effective
diet for six pack abs you should be eating more frequently and
smaller meals rather then the regular 3 meals a day.
Try switching it up to 5-6 smaller meals a day
spread out by 3 hours each. This speeds up your
metabolism and reduces the chances that you'll feel hungry and
succumb to the snack machine at your office.
Foods: Of course eating fewer
calories and more frequent through the day is great. How ever
if what you're eating at those times is still crap then guess
what you won't be able to develop the physique and 6 pack abs
you're after.
Ensuring you get equal servings of protein, good
carbohydrates, good oils, and green vegetables and fruits is a
must for each meal. I won't get into an entire list
here of foods to lose belly fat. How ever if you'd like to
learn more about creating your own 6 pack abs diet, and what
foods are best there's detailed meal planning advice in The
Truth about 6 Pack Abs ebook available here.
Water: No enough people take water seriously, you should be
drinking 6-8 glasses or more a day, and most of us just aren't
doing it.
If you don't drink enough water then your body holds
onto excess water thinking that it might not get
enough through out the day. This makes you appear heavier then
you actually are.
If you starting drinking more water and your body gets
accustomed to this then you'll begin to drop that water
weight.
Over Eating: This might seem
counteractive to the whole six pack abs diet concept but once
each week be sure you have an over eating day.
NOTE: This doesn't mean eat pop, chips,
and pizza. You still need to eat the good foods, how
ever eat more then your normal caloric intake. This will keep
your metabolism on it's heels and be sure not to get used to
your new eating routine.
So there you have it the basic steps to a 6 pack abs diet.
Note there is no hardened fast rules for this, you should
create your own plan that works for you.
I used an ebook called The Truth About abs to develop my
own flat abs diet. The author Mike
Geary is a professional trainer and nutritionist,
his guidance in the book helped me learn what foods were
good and bad, also how to construct quality meal plans and
build my grocery list for them.
You can pick up a copy of Mike's ebook at his official website here. There's a 60 day
money back guarantee on the book so if you aren't happy with
the information after you read it you can request a full
refund. I think the information is well worth the money, and
if you implement it you'll reach your 6 pack ab goals sooner
then later.
